Buhari’s ward residents endorse him for second term
National Chairman of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has described the APC-led Federal Government as a colossal failure.
Secondus, who spoke with reporters yesterday at Asaba Airport shortly after his arrival in the Delta State capital for the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting with governors and top members of the party, also described former President Olusegun Obasanjo-led Coalition for Nigeria as “dead on arrival.”
He said: “The new coalition will never be a threat because we are a solid political party founded by our founding-fathers. We are solid on the ground, and I believe that they are a threat to the other parties and not our party.
“The Buhari administration is a colossal failure, and the entire country is aware of this.”In a related vein, the National Conscience Party (NCP) in Katsina State has warned that tough times await politicians who rode to power on the back of Buhari during the 2015 general elections.
The state Chairman of the party, Abdulmumini Shehu Sani, who spoke at a press conference yesterday, said with the dismal performance of the APC, it would be difficult to hoodwink Nigerians into voting for them come 2019.
Sani said politicians who depended on riding on Buhari’s back should brace themselves for anything other than the support they got in the past.In another development, the residents of Polling Unit 003, Sarkin Yara A Ward, Babban Gida, Daura, Katsina State, have called on Buhari to contest for another term in office come 2019.
The polling unit residents, who spoke under auspices of Daura Youth Support Group at a solidarity rally at the weekend, urged him not to listen to critics but re-contest to complete the good work he had begun. The group, led by its chairman, Aliyu Dahiru, said they were calling on him to “re-contest putting into consideration his achievements within short period in office.”
