Aminu Tukur, a lawmaker, in Bauchi State House of Assembly, has in two years provided free medical services to 250 people from his constituency, Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area.
Tukur said on Thursday in Bauchi that most of the interventions were conducted during Lassa fever and Gastroenteritis outbreaks in the council area.
“More than 250 persons from my constituency benefited from free medical services including surgeries in various secondary health facilities as well as interventions on Lassa fever and the outbreak of gastroenteritis in the area in the past two years,’’ he said.
The lawmaker said that the interventions were part of his efforts toward ensuring a healthy environment across the constituency.
“Health experts were engaged to embark on health education and meetings with women in various communities on various health issues.
“I am active in the Bauchi State House of Assembly on anything that has to do with health and we will continue to do it.
“Free medical services has been my priority and we will continue to do it for our people as health is vital to human,’’ Tukur said.
