Member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Solomon Ahwinahwi has empowered over 12 female petty traders with undisclosed token amount of money to boost their businesses.
Ahwinahwi also charged the people in the area to support the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration in its effort to revamp the state’s economy and as well develop the state through his SMART agenda.
Speaking at his GRA residence, Effurun, while addressing the beneficiaries of the scheme, the federal lawmaker said the gesture was to appreciate the people of Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu constituency for supporting the current administration of Delta state and voting him to represent them.
The women include Philo Eroh, Victoria Idonidoru, Etakware Ese, Rose Omobor, Helen Tailor, Isherhe Emily, Comfort Edurhe, Emuejevoke Tasela, Helen Elume, Esther Okorare, Madam Currency Ejeghwovwo, Chief Omadevuae, all of whom were drawn from communities in Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Local Government Areas.
Ahwinahwi appealed to the constituents to ensure they were all registered to vote and electorally active in the present political dispensation.
According to him, the ongoing economic empowerment programme was in fulfillment of his campaign promises, noting that while he has no executive powers to do more for his constituents, he nevertheless is quite prepared to share his salary and emoluments with the less privileged among them.
“The Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s Prosperity for all Deltans through the SMART Agenda is to liberate the state from the economic recession and rapid development through provision of infrastructure and empowerment programmes designed to revamp the state economy.
