Serious drama is brewing between two lovers who have now turned enemies. A bride-to-be named Yu Qing Weng has been dragged to court for allegedly making away with N100 million in money and jewelry allocated for a civil wedding which she called off.

According to the broken-hearted groom-to-be, Jin Donng of Manhattan, his to-be bride, Yu Qing and her mother made away with a lot of money in cash, jewelry and gift items all from him, only to dump him and call off the wedding they had been planning for months.

Based on the lawsuit filed by Jin on March 14, she made away with N14 million in “exquisite betrothal gold jewelry” and a N22.5 million paid as cash dowry by him according to their native China custom and marriage rites.

Donng’s pain was that the said to-be bride had promised to marry him and they had gotten engaged in 2016, followed by a traditional wedding banquet. In January 2017, plans towards a lavish civil wedding were in preparation, the to-be groom started spending a lot of money.

So much that he even allegedly paid his bride-to-be’s mother N1.3 million for appreciation sake. Seven months later, before the wedding, Qing called it off and moved out of his house.

When asked, Qing and her mother denied all claims, saying the groom is a cheapskate and never gave them any money. They also added that he was really mean and is only lying to cover his sins.
